Getting started

Up and running in three steps.

  1. Install

    Run AltQ-setup.exe. It installs for the person signed in to Windows, so nobody needs to call IT.

  2. Sign in

    AltQ opens your browser. Enter your work email, open the link we send, and approve the code shown in AltQ. Your catalogs download.

  3. Press Alt+Q

    From any program. If another program already uses that shortcut, pick a different one in AltQ’s settings.

Rolling out to many PCs?

Install AltQ silently for each person, or for everyone on a PC with the MSI through Intune, Configuration Manager or Group Policy.

  • Needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) and the Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime, which Windows 11 includes. The per-user installer adds it if it’s missing.
  • The installer and the MSI are signed by YouZag LLC, the company that makes AltQ. Windows shows it as the publisher, YOUZAG LLC.
  • Uses the proxy set in Windows and trusts the certificates in the Windows certificate store.
  • Per-user installs download updates in the background and offer Restart to update. They never restart on their own. MSI installs don’t update themselves: deploy the new MSI.

Each release publishes its MSI next to the installer, as https://downloads.altq.app/windows/AltQ_<version>_x64_en-US.msi. The current version is in latest.json. Questions? Write to support@altq.app.
